Free to anyone willing to move it: a Bush & Gerts upright piano, built in Chicago around the turn of the century (company operated 1880s–1920s). Beautiful ornate carved front panel with urn and ribbon details — a genuine piece of Victorian-era craftsmanship. Matching wooden bench included.
Full 88-key upright with three pedals. Keys are intact and the cabinet is in solid condition for its age. It will need tuning, and like any piano this old it would benefit from a technician’s attention if you plan to play it seriously. Would also make a stunning decorative piece, or a great project for a restorer or hobbyist.
The details you need to know:
• FREE — but you handle 100% of the moving
• It’s heavy (roughly 600+ lbs) — bring at least 3–4 strong people or hire piano movers
• Currently in a ground-level storage unit with drive-up access — no stairs
• Must be picked up by July 19th.
• First come, first served — I’ll respond to whoever can commit to a pickup time soonest
