Where is it located?
It is conveniently located in Meadow Brook Hills, on Meadow Brook Rd just off economically vibrant Hwy 280 in Inverness/Greystone area. It is close to I-459/I-65, the Summit. and only 13 miles to UAB. It is a highly desirable safe, scenic and open subdivision. Our place is only 1.5 miles from Jefferson State College on Valleydale Rd.
Where and how is the room setup?
There is complete privacy in the room(s), like having your own private apartment inside of a house. The 2nd floor is completely dedicated to rental guests - and there are only two guests rooms available. Nobody else goes up to the 2nd floor except for the guests, the cleaning people or the LL if there are issues that need to be addressed to help insure the comfort and well-being of the guests. The master bedroom is on the second floor and the LL's office is in the basement. So there is total separation of living arrangement - thus the quiet and privacy.
THIS LIKE YOUR OWN APARTMENT WITHIN A HOUSE. TOTAL PRIVACY, SERENITY, PEACE AND QUIET IN A SCENIC AND SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD.
You enter the main door, and then after a few steps, turn right to the stairs that takes you the exclusive area for rental guest. No need to go through someone's living room and potentially disturb people that might be lounging like in some setups you'll find.
SAFETY AND SECURITY
We have been doing this for 7 years with no safety and security issues. Our many short term guests or tenants have included traveling nurses and other healthcare employees, professionals or contractors on short assignment in Birmingham, white collar workers in different industries in the city, short term visitors to the city.

14. LL and wife are empty nesters. 3 grown boys have their own apartments going to UAB. So the place is peaceful and quiet. The kids occasionally visit.

16. No shoes policy upstairs to help ensure the floors are clean for the guests (Japanese style)
17. Dedicated kitchen counter on the landing area on the 2nd floor for guests’ use.
18. As most guests are busy, want to rest and value their quiet time, LL respects that as he is busy himself, and tends to be scarce. At the same time, LL is always available (by text or phone call) in case he needs to address any issue to help ensure the comfort and pleasant stay of the rental guests.

It is 13 miles to downtown (the LL worked at a bank in downtown for 3 years. If you leave earlier before the traffic, as I did, it will take only 17 minutes taking Hwy 280.)
