I am the second owner and have had this since 2005. It is in excellent condition and the action is set low. Really low. I always liked my electrics and acoustics to be as similar as possible and I keep the action on the electrics very low. You may want it higher than how I have it set up, but I promise, if you like your guitars set up so that they are easy to play, you will love this one. The action at the 12th fret is probably as good as any electric you've played.
Taylor discontinued the 615 model model for reasons unknown. It is slightly larger than the 614 model (an inch in the lower bout) and maybe they were too similar. Any case, this size has a little more low end than the 614 and is close in size and feel to a Gibson J200. Practically every one of these that you'll see have the uncolored spruce top. The Sunburst is rare. This also has the equally rare figured three-piece maple back. It also has the older Fishman electronics that might be considered less visually appealing than the three-knob version they replaced these with. But the graphic EQ and expanded controls are far better. I don't know why they stopped using this system. There is a piezo in the bridge and an internal mic in the body. There is a blender for the two as well a notch to reduce feedback. Most don't know this, but the 6 series is higher in the pecking order (more expensive) than the 7 series. Only God in heaven has a clue as to why Taylor did it that way, but what's done is done. The 6 series costs a few hundred dollars more than the 7s. Also, if you're looking for price comparisons and can't find many 615s out there, just look at 614CE. As stated, they're about the same thing other than a little bit of bout width.
Comes with original case plus a soundhole feedback device and also a humidifier as pictured. Humidifier not really needed for humid Birmingham, but use it as you may. The original case key is included and there is also a very handy soundhole tuner clipped on.
I used to buy and sell a lot on ebay/Reverb but shipping high-end guitars is too risky and difficult for me anymore. Recognizing that I'd eat the selling fees and have to deal with the shipping hassle, I've got this for sale at a very reasonable price given that you will not have to pay tax or shipping. And you can try it out in the music studio with its own separate entrance at my house.
This will be listed shortly on ebay and Reverb at a higher price, but I hope it sells here instead.
