ABS LLC is seeking reliable independent contractors for outdoor field data collection. The work involves driving to utility pole locations, taking photos, and recording information using a smartphone application. This is a flexible, project-based opportunity with the potential for ongoing work and advancement based on productivity, quality, and reliability.

This is a 1099 independent contractor role with flexible scheduling and project-based assignments.
Location:
The projects are all over the state of Alabama (we will also have projects in TN, LA, and others).
Compensation
• Paid per countable unit (piece-rate)
• Average equivalent earnings: $25-32/h
• Fully proficient contractors earn $35-40+/hour
• Earnings vary depending on productivity, terrain, and weather
• Work availability varies depending on active projects
Scope of Work
• Drive to assigned utility pole locations using digital maps
• Take clear photos of poles, tags, cables, and related equipment
• Capture GPS coordinates and required field information
• Enter data into a smartphone app
• Move efficiently between assigned locations
Full onboarding materials, documentation, and software guidance will be provided.
No prior telecom experience is required. Contractors must be willing to learn and follow instructions. Attention to detail and being able to move fast is important.
