Vintage chunky chain link silver charm bracelet, secured by a padlock clasp and a fine security chain. Bracelet is 6.35 mm wide and 6.5" long, excluding the clasp. (The length and width have been measured with a micrometer.) 78 grams. Clasp is stamped RGS. If the reading of RGS is accurate, the bracelet may be attributable to R G Springall & Co Ltd. of London. Seller is unable to read any other hallmarks with certainty but the first appears to be a lion. The bracelet dates from the 1960's and is from the United Kingdom.
The 18 charms are a sewing machine, which opens to display spools of thread, Westminster Abbey, tankard, Empire State Building, three pence Irish coin (1964), a crib, which opens to display a baby, a typewriter, New York State (stamped sterling), a battery, which opens to display a car, a puffy engraved heart (stamped silver), Statue of Liberty, Madonna portrait, State of Maine, drum, which opens to display a violin,, a coronation crown, George VI coin (1940), University of Michigan emblem (stamped sterling). Any visible stamps on the charms are as indicated and no other hallmarks are legible. Not all the charms are from the same era, some are clearly older and a few were purchased in the United States. The puffy heart charm has a minor indentation but any other flaws are consistent with age and wear. Unless otherwise noted, the charms are undamaged and very crisp. Not boxed. $300.
