Four lovely antique English napkin rings in very good condition. The engraved patterns are crisp and there is no damage. All four are monogrammed but these could easily be removed. The napkin rings were a gift to my mother and then passed to me. Please be aware that the hallmarks are small and challenging to read.
A. English engraved silver napkin ring, 11/2" in diameter, 1" high. Maker’s mark is H G & S Ltd. which may be attributed to Henry Griffith & Son. Hallmarked with anchor, lion and letter “a”, indicating Birmingham assay office, circa 1900.
B. English engraved silver napkin ring, 13/4" in diameter, 3/4" high. Maker’s mark is H A which may be attributed to Atkin Brothers of Sheffield, England. Hallmarked with crown, lion and letter “h” (1900). Atkin Brothers was in business from 1853 until 1958.
C. English engraved silver napkin ring with rolled edges, over 11/2" in diameter, 3/4" high. Maker’s mark is T. H which may be attributed to Thomas Hayes. Hallmarked with anchor, lion and what appears to be the letter “u” indicating Birmingham assay office, circa 1894.
D. English engraved silver napkin ring with rolled edges, over 13/4" in diameter, 11/4" high. The maker’s mark is illegible. Hallmarked with lion, shield and letter “p” indicating Chester assay office, circa 1915.
