This unique coin operated AM radio has been restored internally and works! The coin mechanism is missing but the external plate for coins is there. Also there is the original metal tag "RM 224 Tutwiler".
On the chassis all paper capacitors were replaced, electrolytics replaced, some NOS tubes and out of spec capacitors were replaced. New dial cord, speaker replaced. The radio was aligned and works well.
On the dial face plate it says " Custom built by National Hotel Radio Corp." The tag on the top says "Tutwiler RM 224" The chassis has a label on it "Setchell Carlson" serial number 2697 but no model number. After searching thousands of old radio photographs, schematics, and descriptions it appears this is one of a kind and is now listed and more pictures are available at the Radio Museum site

The cabinet is in fair condition but the radio is 75 years old. The one photo is correct - the chassis is mounted inverted.
