I have a large BEDROOM for rent in the Alabaster/Birmingham area (11 miles south of the Galleria). This is a private 238 sq ft (17' x 14') furnished or unfurnished bedroom and walk-in closet. This includes, of course, normal use of the rest of the house -- bathrooms, kitchen, laundry, and living areas. The bedroom is on the second floor of a 2-story, 4 bedroom house located in Navajo Hills (in north Alabaster -- almost touching Helena and Pelham).

All utilities are included at NO extra cost (specifically electricity, gas, digital cable TV, long distance phone, and high speed Internet). Rent is $145 per week (or $580 monthly, whichever works best for you).

Please note that the house temperature is kept around 72-73 degrees (some people find that to be a bit too cold). Other features include a quiet neighborhood, large wooded yard, covered deck, gas grill, 3 refrigerators, and some limited storage in the basement.

The house is occupied currently by 3 individuals (1 female (mid-40s) and 2 non-stereotypically gay males (mid-30s and mid-40s)), 2 dogs, & 2 geckos (no new pets desired -- with very few exceptions). It works out so that you would have the house to yourself quite a bit... she works 2nd shift and he is studying at the library most of the time. Both are young, laid back professionals who are looking for someone with that same lifestyle to share the house.

The rent - The rent is split among the roommates. This rent of $408/month is the least amount paid in the house because you would be getting the smallest bedroom. However, it is still a good size room with a large closet. Bills (electricity, gas, water, WIFI, cable, etc.) are split 3 ways evenly and I have never paid over $175 in a month for my share.

Room for rent with 3 other guys (all working professionals: 1 engaged soon-to-be Harvard grad student, 1 Alaskan fisherman for 6 months out of the year...no joke, he's awesome, and me). Utilities are included. This particular house is in Meadowbrook on Hwy 280 (between Inverness and Greystone, across from Brook Highland). The room is private and has a shared bathroom with one other roommate (who is very clean). We have a back porch that I swear we need to start using more often for parties and whatnot. We have a nice back yard as well, but no fence. No animals are allowed until we have a fence installed.
