I am looking for an intern who would like to help build social networking sites...twitter, facebook, myspace, etc.............It would be great for the person wanting to go into music management or marketing. This person will be a virtual assistant of sorts and preferably has great computer knowledge. You will also be able to attend and assist with merchandising at shows ....set up....tear down of a small PA, sound check etc....No crazy stuff just simple light lifting and set up . If you play an instrument or sing...thats a plus.....You will possibly be able to do a few numbers to open the show....and this will help for sound check.
The right person is free spirited, outgoing, Love Music/Americana/Country, and passionate about helping an artist on the rise.....
possibly a new artist themselves that wants to learn more about the business/marketing/booking side of things.

They should live in Birmingham and will be in contact through phone, internet communications.

There are Monthly shows in Birmingham that you will assist with......and must be able to attend at least one weekend out of the month on a Friday and Saturday night.

We have a range of influences: progressive rock, blues, modern rock, metal, etc. We are; however, extremely open-minded. We just want to make something new, original and fresh.

What we want:

Personality:
This is priority one. We want people we get along with more then anything, so when we first meet we'd prefer to just hang out and see what happens, before we even get into music.

Passion:
You have to love music and be willing to make it a priority. We want original songs, and do not intend to play covers in a bar just to "make a quick buck." We also have no big ties to Birmingham, and would prefer to move somewhere with a bigger music scene with the right group of people.

This is very important. You have to be confident, at least half way attractive, and be able to interact with other people. And, I hate to sound biased, but, the younger the better. :-)

If you have those 3 things we should be good. You don't have to be the most talented out there, you just have to want it. Lots of people make it without a lot of talent, they just truly love what they're doing.

We have almost all the equipment needed to start practicing immediately. We have a place to practice, multiple guitars. (1 acoustic, a clean electric, a medium electric, and a grungy electric) A 5 piece drum set, a keyboard, and a soundboard and recording equipment (a PC with several programs) so everything except the other people needed. :-)

Singer/Songwriter:
That's me. :-) I know a bit about music, although I am not well versed in any instruments. My main influences are progressive/modern rock (tool, system, disturbed etc.) and my name is Mark, and I think I am a phenomenal songwriter. lol. :-)

Guitar: Capable of playing lead or rhythm, extensive background in blues and classic rock.

Bass: Metal and modern rock influences, as well as some blues. Got tired of the 4 string so he's moved up to a 5 string, if that's any indication of how good he is. :-)

We are willing to work with anything and everything except country if you think you fit the bill. (rock, jazz, r&b, hip-hop, blues etc.) We're even willing to work with other singer/songwriters.
