Hi,

I am looking to form a blues trio or quartet. I have fished around on here before looking but to no avail. I'm 27, male, white, drug free, and drink a few beers on occasion. If any of that is a problem then you should probably stop reading now. I live in Hayden but I'm looking to play around Birmingham.

I play lead guitar and sing a little bit. I'm looking for a drummer and bass player, preferably one or the other would be able to sing as well. I am not opposed to working with another guitar player, epecially if they sing well. I want to play BLUES. I'm fine with mixing in some classic rock, bluesy rock, or hell..even some country to draw a crowd but my main focus is blues.

I'm also certainly not opposed to joining an existing group. If you're in need, hit me up. I love classic rock and country and even singer/songwriter stuff but my passion is for blues. I haven't lived in the area very long and I'm trying to break into the musician community and I guess I'm going to have to beat my way in. I have a day job that is a career but it is only during the week and I certainly intend to turn this into a gigging group. I love jamming but I want to play out. If you just want to jam that's fine. I wouldn't mind coming to jam with but keep in mind my main focus is to form or join a gigging blues group.

Also, if you have a band and wouldn't mind letting somebody sit in, let me know the name of your group and where you'll be playing. Hey what can it hurt, if I'm good the crowd will love it. If I'm bad it will just make your group look that much better. HA!

Thanks
Matt Willis

I know have rambled in this post but if you made it through all of that and are still interested, email me. I'll list some of the influences that I have in mind below

Eric Clapton ("From the Cradle" type stuff)
Freddie King
BB King
Tab Benoit
Jeff Healey's blues stuff
Howling Wolf
just about any of the old blues standards
The Electric Flag Album
Jimmy Thackery
